Attitude Determines Altitude
Attitude ultimately determines what we will achieve in life. We can either have a positive attitude, or a negative attitude toward the way we face each day and the people around us. Basically, our attitude is a choice we make each day, but whether it is positive or negative, will be manipulated by our experiences, interactions and emotions, and how we choose to interpret these experiences, interactions and emotions.
You are running late for work, and you are stuck in a traffic jam, how you respond to that situation can determine your attitude and emotional state for the rest of the day. Your choice is to either get angry and frustrated, or you can accept the situation for what it is, and remain calm and composed.
One key factor in obtaining a more successful and positive life, is to look for positive outcomes in negative experiences that you may find yourself in. You may have just lost your job, the negative outcome may be the loss of immediate income, but the positive outcome may be that you did not enjoy your job, and this is a fantastic opportunity to find that career that you are passionate about.
A positive attitude will also move you towards your goals and dreams. Goals and dreams are rarely reached with a negative attitude. Research has consistently proven that successful people have a positive attitude and are able to see a positive outcome in all negative experiences and keep moving forward.
Having the right attitude is one of the basics that success requires. The combination of a sound personal philosophy and a positive attitude about ourselves and the world around us gives us an inner strength and a firm resolve that influences all the other areas of our life. So next time you are stuck in a traffic jam, and before you get upset and frustrated, take a minute to think about the attitude you are about to choose. The choice you make, can determine your attitude the rest of your day.
